Ending Of Summer

Well July has or is almost to its end.. I can not believe another summer has passed and another year with out me killing one of the kids.  Though it came really close this year.. I think one child thought because they are the age of an adult that they could attempt to be an adult but that did not work out when they throw temper tantrums like a 4 year old.

So Makenzee has moved back to school and is in her own apartment this year.  She moved back sooner than later cause she had classes start in July. She has almost everything for her apartment either by confiscating it from me or sweet talking me to buy it from her. Oooo wait she sweet talked Rob into convincing me to buy it for her. Cause what she wanted was his favorite recliner and well he was not about to give that up, so he told me to get her furniture.. Yep you got it daddy's little spoiled brat.

As for my other spoiled brat well he was able to attend The National Boy Scout Jamboree this year and it was exciting. He spent several weeks at different camps and a few weeks with grandma and grandpa.  He got to hang out with his cousins and of course get some card time and fishing time in.  Now is its time to break all his summer habits and get him on a schedule since school starts next week.  URGH that is easier said than done..

I cant believe he will be in 8th grade this year and Makenzee is a junior in college. Where has the time gone?  So we will be starting off Aug with a busy schedule between work, school and scouts. Two big events with scouts a month for the next few months and that does not include are regular scout events. School of course will be a big one since one particular child of mine dislikes several subjects.

Look forward to the end of summer and the beginning of fall. One of my favorite seasons and times of the year.  So I hope everyone has had a great summer.  I will post some pictures of the kids soon. Well as soon as they let me take some. Makenzee is a camera hog and Ryon well he runs from it. So let see what I can do..

As always love you all and God Bless.

Thoughts swirling around in my head make me think of things I have put off for so long. One thing was writing about us a little. We are so far away from family and friends a lot due to our adventures of Military life that I wanted to keep all informed. Well as you can tell from the scattered posts I have not been very good at keeping folks up to date.

As of today there has been so much that has gone on with us that it would be a book to catch every one up in detail. So instead I will give a quick brief on each of us and where we are today.  I will try very hard to keep up more specially as this time we are in is moving so fast.

Lets see as far as us we still are in TN. Well at least for the time being. I'm still working full time and looking at maybe going back to school to finish another degree and start a new career.  It is still in the baby steps of the thought process but as we all know life has its curve balls and things can change any minute.

The kids well they both are growing so fast and doing so well that keeping up with them is a full time job.

Makenzee well she is in her Junior year of Marshall University. She has her own apartment now and lord is she growing up fast.  She is double majoring and has a full if not more than full load of classes. Proud of her in all she has accomplished so far and what she has in store for herself. She is very stubborn (like her grandma) and very independent (like her momma)  so I am told.  While Makenzee was home she was very unselfish and volunteered for the USO on post and not only did she do it every day she was very popular there. She earned over 100 hours and received an award for it. Shows that my baby girl not only is smart she is giving and very unselfish and enjoys helping others.

Ryon well he is the total opposite. He can care less about school but he has done well. He is heading in to his last year of middle school then off to high school. (Yikes)  He starts 8th grade this August.  He is heavily into Boy Scouts (popcorn coming soon). He is already a First Class and is ready to hit the next rank. He just got back from two camps and wow has he grown.  Kodiak an outdoor leadership camp. He learned a lot about team work and it shows in his actions. He is growing into a very responsible young man. He then went to summer camp with scouts and well again he learned a lot and I noticed little changes in him whether it be his mannerisms or just the way he carries himself. It is definitely a great thing.

Now for one of my favorites my best friend, soul mate and love.  His new job has kept him extremely busy and well he is good.  He gets frustrated and wants to probably hurt someone at times at least when the young ones do something stupid  or don't think but instead of losing his head he has turned it into a learning experience for those that are willing to learn. For those that don't care well he is still helping them in other ways.  He really enjoys his job and I'm very proud of him.  Being a 1SG is not easy by any means and well he is handling the position with his head held high!!!

Well that is the quick glimpse of all of us right now and I will try to add more and more as the days go on.  Maybe throw in some of our summer craziness in if I can remember or get the kids to tell me any of theirs.

God Bless and keep praying for those in harms way..

WOW, 2013 already and the time is already flying by. Since the beginning of this year  we have had several things already happen. To start off it was a great reward for my husband, cause all his hard work has paid off, he will be pinned MSG Friday the 11th of January.  Something he has worked hard the last 19yrs. We as a family are very proud of him. The best part of this upcoming promotion is having both the kids here to see the pinning.

Speaking of kids, as you all know Makenzee is attending Marshall University for the second year and is doing great. She is keeping up with her A/B grades and a 3.8 GPA. This next semester will be a hard one for her. Apparently, she is double majoring and one of her majors is biology and she is doubling her classes up this sememster with those classes.  I'm very proud of the young lady she has become.  Not only is she doing well in school she finally got her a car. Well actually Rob and I got it for her for Christmas. If you have not seen the video of you check it out. You can find it on youtube under my email: sweetcwgrl@gmail.com or on facebook.  It is one funny video. She heads back to school this weekend. It sure will be quiet with out her here. I know Rob will be a little sad they have done several things together this vacation and have become closer.

As for the lil man well he is growing like a weed. Seriously he is over 5foot now. He is almost as tall as his sister who may I say is not happy about that. He just returned from winter camp with the Boy Scouts and had a blast. He earned 3 more merit badges during the camp and a 4th one out side of camp. He really is enjoying this and I am so proud of him.  Now if I can just get him to study a little harder in school and turn in his homework I would really be happy.

As for me, work has been busy with another unit returning home soon. I enjoy seeing the families who have been with out their loved one for so long reunite. It is one of the best feelings.  Other than that I have ventured into some crafting not much but it was relaxing. Reading more and running to keep up the weight I lost and to keep healthy.  Yes as always trying to keep healthy.

With Makenzee's 20th Birthday coming up and mine shortly right after this month is really going by.  I will update more as the month goes by or when I get a few minutes to get on.  Hope everyone is having a great year so far.  God Bless

Sunday, December 16, 2012

Wow as I look at my last post I did not realize how far behind I have actually been. As you can tell life has taken over completely and time has not slowed down.

Well this is looking like the best way to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and  Happy New Year. I know I am very slow when it comes to mailing things out including updates on the family.  As you may all know we are still living in Tennessee and Rob is still stationed here at Fort Campbell.

Wow things that have happened in 2012 have been lots and then really just life itself.  Let's start off with Ryon. As you all know Ryon is in Boy Scouts and he is currently a Second Class.  He is almost ready for his Scout review to try for 1st Class. He has earned several merit badges also.  He is currently getting ready for Winter Camp. Rob and him will be attending this year's Winter Camp together.  As i say better them then me.

Well let's get the scoop on Makenzee.  As you all know she is now a sophomore in college and attending Marshall University.  She is currently double majoring and keeping a 3.90 GPA.  She earned a $1000. scholarship and has been inducted to the Collegiate Honor Society.  She has been very busy with school and I only get to see her on holidays.  She is spending the Christmas season again with us and I can't wait.

Well for Rob and I, it really has been about work and running Ryon around to everything.  It looks like change is coming upon us as for what it is we are not sure. We have been here in TN for a little over 3 years so I just have that funny feeling that something will be happening this upcoming year or two.  He is currently working a staff position and for anyone that knows my husband sitting behind a desk is not good for him. He really enjoys training and working with the Soldiers.  Hopefully soon he will be back on the line where he is enjoying himself.

We just wanted to give everyone a quick update on what we have had come around and what we have been up to. As you can see things do not get any slower as the kids get older. With Ryon getting ready to finish 7th grade and Makenzee finishing up sophomore year of college It looks like things will continue at this pace.   We want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and A Very Happy New Year.  May God Bless everyone with great things this upcoming year.

End of March

Wow, I can't believe it has been forever since I have posted.  Seems life does get you side tracked. Well we are ending March and Rob is getting ready to leave for a year. Ryon started  baseball and well Makenzee just called for more money to get a prom dress.  REALLY???  It seems she just started High School and Ryon was still my little man.

Let's see, Ryon turned 10 yesterday and is growing up so fast. He has his own little personality that really makes me melt.  We spent his birthday at my inlaws and had a blast. They really did spoil him as always. He got alot of great gifts he says.  His biggest things he got was a new nerf gun and a card set. He also got a new fishing pole and tackle box. (guess that means I'm going fishing)  They bought a small cake and we celebrated his bday with him in WV.

Makenzee well lets see.. She and Ryon are so opposite.. She is getting ready for her spring break vacation with one of her best freinds and they are going to Las Vegas.  Before you all freak they are going to spend the week with her (Maklaya)friend's father.  Maklaya did not want to spend the week by herself at her fathers so they invited Makenzee.  Me worried... Just a little.. So I got the app for my phone to know where she is at all times.. I know bad mom... lol... Anyways when she gets back she leaves immediately for Yosemite for a school thing for  a week then comes home just in time for the Prom.. YIKES!!! Talk about growing up..

As for Rob and I well we are doing great. Preparing our selves for the up coming deployment. But other than that getting ready to celebrate our 6th year Anniversary.. We are going this weekend up to Pigeon Forge for the weekend to spend some more time with his family in a cabin that his mom got for the weekend. Can't wait.. It is going to be fun.  I think we are going to go to a show and dinner when we get home the following weekend for our anniversary.

As for me well I graduated from college with my Bachelors of Science degree. Should be excited right?? NOT what did I do but go and start another Bachelors degree. Speaking of I should get started on my homework for this week.

Well I will try not to stay away so long but as we all know being a mom, wife and working things come up and life keeps going.. Will add pictures of our trip to WV soon...

God Bless

Long week

Yes I know the week is not really over but it is close enough for me. I honestly want the weekend to be here. Nothing planned well maybe cleaning but nothing major.

Halloween was great. As you see in pictures Ryon was one of his favorite things. Oh wait you are not suppose to see him.. my bad. Ryon was in a costume contest at the unit Halloween party and the age group he fell in was 8-16. He won 1st place and was totally excited. Our neighbor helped him with his costume so I have to give credit where credit is due. But he does look real good. As for me I was able to hand out candy this year while Rob took Ryon and the dog "Trick o Treating" It was a great night weather wise also. Some clouds and crispness in the air and so very much feeling like Fall.

It did not last. I ended up taking a road trip to pick up some things for my dear sweet husband and ended up seeing some real good friends. Had dinner with Cassie and the kids which is always a pleasure. Specially since we ate Brusters afterwards. Had lunch with another good friend at our favorite hot spot "Hooters" the wings rock. Well they did for sure that day.
Work has been real busy with everyone leaving and coming it makes for time to either go quickly or just drag on. I think today was one of those days that did not want to quit. As you all may have heard the terrible news that has happened at Fort Hood. Please keep those families in your prayers. It is very sad for something like this to happen here to our friends and loved ones. After hearing the news I was contated by my friends there to let me know they were safe and sound so I was able to breathe a little easier. One thing I can say is no matter where or what happens we tend to all pull together in rough and hard times. Our prayers are with you all.

Now I have to figure what we are doing for the holidays. Originally I wanted to leave but now we might just stay home and hope my daughter comes home. But knowing her she will find something to keep her in California.

It is late, and we have an early day tomorrow. Hopefully the doctors appointment will give some answers to all my questions. Last day of work and school for Ryon. Not sure what are in sight for the weekend but I do know I will make the best of it with my family. God Bless and sleep tight. Our prayers to all that are in harms way and all that have lost loved ones.

P umpkins and more pumpkins

Well lets see this morning I awoke to Ryon, yes my lovely son trying to make cinnamon rolls. He did everything but stick them in the oven. He came and woke me up to put them in..Got to love him

After we ate we cleaned up a little then decided to go to the HoneySuckle Pumpkin Farm. It was cute. They had a cute set up. Ryon went on some slides, a corn popper (air jumper) we did the corn maze and believe or not it was in the shape of George Strait. Did the kids maze which was got milk? Only got lost a few times that is when I decided to lead.. Hmm with out land marks I am not that great at directions. But give me some land marks and we are in there. Was able to get a good size pumpkin that Ryon will carve tomorrow and I will take pictures and show you all. I promise i will start taking more pictures...(fingers are crossed)

Came back to town and went to the mall, Ryon and Rob played laser tag and I went to the book store. Great compromise. Got coffee and came home for some homemade chili. Now cant ask for anything more. Got some time on the computer and now heading to bed. Plan on going to see Where the Wild Things Are? Loved one and friends are in our prayers see y'll soon..
